Apologies to be mentioning the "C-word" COVID-19, I think we are all pretty fed up with this by now. I do not mean to make light of the global pandemic as it has had a huge impact on everyone, and lots of people have lost loved ones.
However globally we are starting to realise that we can no longer fight this and we are going to have to come up with strategies to treat and mitigate.
When I first saw the headlines about COVID, it reminded me of hearing my diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I thought "I am going to have start learning to live with this, this is real".
The bigger questions then started to be asked "what does this mean? Is everything to change? Am I ever going to be better?".
I still do not have all the answers unfortunately. I wish I did! Wouldn't life be so much easier if we did have all the answers!? However, what I have started to realise is that Fibromyalgia appears to be unpredictable. When I feel that I have found a routine or something that makes my symptoms and life a little easier, something else happens and I feel right back at square 1.
At the moment, I appear to be mitigating Fibromyalgia, that is my life. It is something I am learning to live with! I do not feel that I am doing such a good job at the moment and I wonder if I will ever feel that I am managing it.
To Mitigate- make something less severe, serious, painful. You might want to use alleviate, reduce, lighten.
